Education in the Principals of Laboratory Animals Anaesthesia

Concern for the health and welfare of laboratory animals, expressed in the latter part of the 20th Century, has led to several countries insisting upon formal training for new biomedical research scientists. In the UK, New Licensee Training Courses, mandatory modular training required under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, have resulted in a formal and improved dissemination of information and methods of "best practice" in the field of laboratory animal science.
