Identifying Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes and obesity are complex metabolic diseases having a multi-organ aetiology. Currently there is a worldwide epidemic of these diseases with more than 200 million subjects with type 2 diabetes and more than 1 billion clinically overweight or obese. These conditions increase the risk of many life-threatening disorders including vascular disease and some cancers.
