Regulation of immunity and haematopoiesis

The immune system functions to protect the body from infections, including viruses, bacteria and parasites. The system is highly complex and acts throughout the whole body. In order to achieve its role of surveillance, the system contains numerous specialised cells which must interact in an highly co-ordinated way.
