Angiogenesis in Acute and Persistent Synovitis

This project aims to test the hypothesis that new blood vessel formation in the early stages of arthritis causes persistence of inflammation within the joint. The hypothesis predicts that the inhibition of new blood vessel growth in the early stages of joint inflammation may facilitate the resolution of inflammation and hence prevent damage to the joints.
