The pharmacology of ingestive behaviour
The principal aim of the programme of work to be undertaken will be to use pharmacological agents (drugs) as “tools” to identify peripheral and central neurochemical factors (neurotransmitters and hormones) that modulate food and fluid intake and to indicate whether these neurochemical systems play a physiological role in the control of ingestive behaviours.
