Molecular imaging in rodent models of neurodegeneration
The aim of this project is threefold: 1) to identify new mechanisms that underlie the neurodegenerative process in rodents e.g. factors that contribute brain inflammation, 2) to identify specific markers for the disease that can be used in its diagnosis e.g. drugs that bind to amyloid plaques and 3) to investigate the effects of new therapies on animal models of neurodegeneration (stroke, brain injury & Alzheimer’s disease).
