Effect of probiotic on pig health
We are studying the effect of probiotics on pig health since the interaction of probiotics (bacteria and/or yeast strains) and the host are not well understood. We are also studying the interactions in pigs as a model for interactions in the human gut. The aims are to provide background information on the effect of probiotics on behaviour, natural gut flora and the response to vaccines, which can benefit the welfare of the pigs.
