490: Thrombosis in cardiovascular disease
The objective of the project is to identify genes that regulate thrombus formation in vivo and determine how these genes regulate thrombosis. In particular genes will be studied that modulate platelet function, since platelets are the central cell involved in initiating thrombosis in arteries, which is a critical event in heart disease and stroke in man.
