491: Genetic dissection of immunity and inflammation

The objective of this programme of work is to identify genes that play a central role in the host innate immune response to pathogens. We want to identify genetically altered animals that have altered immune functions. A better understanding of the host immune response to pathogens will lead to better treatments for infectious disease and chronic inflammation such as tuberculosis and arthritis.
