338: Adaptation to myocardial stress

The purpose of this project is to understand how the heart adapts to a lack of oxygen that occurs in the condition of myocardial ischaemia, and which is recognised clinically as a heart attack. If the process can be better understood, it may lead to new therapies that can benefit patients who suffer from a heart attack, and thereby reduce the disabling effects of the disease and improve survival.
