131: Function of the prion protein
The project is to allow continued breeding of pre-established colonies of transgenic mice. These mice express altered forms of the prion protein. This protein is associated with prion disease and understanding the normal function of this protein will be essential for finding ways to deal with diseases such as BSE and CJD.
