161: Gene therapy of haematological disorders
The objective of this Project License application is to develop gene-based therapies for haematological (blood related) disorders. Genes are hereditary units which carry instructions that allow the cells to produce specific proteins such as enzymes. Flaws in genes can result in disease. Gene therapy is an experimental medical intervention that involves modifying the genetic material of living cells to fight disease
