006: Screening zebrafish embryos for drug discovery

The drug discovery process involves a series of steps starting with identification of compounds that interact with a target of interest, progressing through tests looking at the chemical properties of the compound, the way it interacts with the systems of the body then potential toxic side effects of the compound before the candidate drug can be tested in humans in clinical trials, and then ultimately become a marketed drug.
