034: Gene function and regulation in early vertebrate development
Both the way in which the different types of cells in our body are formed and how the activity of these cells is controlled rely almost entirely on the genes within them. Understanding the function of these genes and how their activity is regulated is a major goal of modern biology and this knowledge underpins many advances in biomedical science. This project studies two aspects of gene function and regulation, concentrating on genes involved in blood formation.
