Directions to HOSDB Sandridge

By Car

M1 s/bound: Leave at junction 10 to 10a. Turn right onto and remain on the A1081, passing through Harpenden, for 8 miles (13km) to a set of traffic lights. At lights turn left (Beech Road) and at the next traffic lights turn left (St Albans Road). Continue to Sandridge village; turn right into House Lane (opposite Green Man PH). Ignoring turnings onto estate roads, turn left into Woodcock Hill (signed). Continue to the top of the hill (see inset).

M25: Leave at Junction 23 and Join the A1 (M) n/bound. Exit Junction 4. Follow directions as below.

A1(M) n/bound: Exit Junction 4. Follow directions as below.

A1(M) s/bound: Leave at Junction 4 and take the 1st exit for Stanborough and Wheathampstead. At next roundabout take 1st exit (signed Wheathampstead B653) and pass under the motorway bridge. At the next roundabout take the road straight ahead (signed Sandridge). Straight across the next roundabout and continue for about 1½ miles (2km) and take the second right signed Sandridge and Woodcock Hill. Travel up the hill (beware of sharp bends). Continue to the top of the hill (see inset).

By Train

Regular services run from Kings Cross Thameslink to St Albans City, taking about half an hour, where taxis are available for the 4 mile trip to HOSDB Sandridge.
