Buildings and site security
Read about our work on improving the security of government buildings and their surroundings, including prisons. Our work helps counter threats from terrorist attacks, and prison escapes. Much of this work is funded by the Security Service.
We work to improve security by:
- developing standards for testing the equipment used in building and site security
- carrying out trials on new physical security equipment
- working on equipment to help in suicide prevention and safer custody in prisons
