Prison and offender security

HOSDB has been applying technology in prisons for many years.

Working in collaboration with prison services

We have carried out work for, and in co-operation with, all UK Prison Services. We have also worked with prison and probation bodies in the US, Canada, Australia and Sweden.

We  provide technical advice and work with industry in the testing of new and innovative equipment for use in prisons. Our areas of expertise include:

• physical barriers, including walls, doors and fences
• electronic detection and surveillance systems
• CCTV and control rooms
• suicide prevention and safer custody
• drug detection and reduction
• security system reviews and assessments
