Detection systems

i-LIDS scenarios and pricing

Details of the cost and system requirements for the i-LIDS datasets, and dataset examples.

Datasets

In accordance with academic convention, the video from each scenario is split into three equivalent datasets each comprising of 24 hours of imagery.

Each dataset contains a variety of video clips from every 'stage' (fixed camera view) as illustrated above. A cross-platform, web-based front end allows users to search for clips containing different types of alarm event, weather conditions etc. based on a high-level ground truth included with each dataset.

The eight "Public Training" & "Public Test" datasets will be made available to academics and manufacturers of VBDS for the purpose of developing systems to cater for each scenario.

The remaining four "Private Evaluation" datasets will be retained by HOSDB and used to certify the performance of systems submitted for evaluation in their regular trials.

Examples of datasets

Please note: A demonstration of the i-LIDS Parked Vehicle Scenario is available on DVD and may be obtained by emailing your name, address and compnay details to the i-LIDS email address.

System requirements

Each public dataset is provided on a 500GB USB2/Firewire external hard drive, in either NTFS or Mac format as required.

The video is rendered in "Quicktime MJPEG" format. Apple's free "Quicktime" viewer is required to view the video. Users with "Quicktime Pro" can easily join adjacent clips together.

To obtain a composite output signal at full frame rate, it is suggested that users utilize a video editing package and DVD burner to export i-LIDS footage onto a DVD which can then be played on a stand-alone DVD player.

Internet Explorer 6 is the recommended browser for accessing the user interface. Other browsers including Firefox will also support the full functionality of the interface.

Pricing

A charge is levied to cover the hardware, duplication and distribution costs of producing i-LIDS datasets. HOSDB receive no revenue from the sale of i-LIDS. The pricing schedule is as follows:

  • £650 per dataset for 1 or more datasets
  • £550 per dataset for 5 or more datasets
  • £500 per dataset for 10 or more datasets

All fees stated are exclusive of VAT.

To apply for datasets, please fill out the dataset application form and End User Licence Agreement and follow the instructions on the application form, sending them to HOSDB with a cheque for the relevant amount made payable to "Jordan UK Ltd".

Applicants must be developers of VBDS or VBDS algorithms.

Because of the possibility of an application being refused, payment should be by cheque, as opposed to a guaranteed form of payment such as money order. If this is not possible, applicants should make a note to that effect with their application and HOSDB will contact them to arrange payment by some other means.
